INSTRUCTIONS:
Set up 3-4 parallel (side-by-side) courses in one-half of the area.
Course 1. Crouch jumps; pulls, or scooter movements or balance down a bench; agility hop through two hoops on floor. Skip, slide, or jog to a cone.
Course 2. Weave in and out of four wands held upright by cones; Crab walk between two cones: lead with feet once, hands once. Gallop to a cone.
Course 3. Do a tumbling activity length of mat; agility run through hoops; Leap frog over partner alternating roles between cones.
Course 4. Curl-ups and push-ups on a mat. Sitting stretches. Jump rope in place.
TEACHING HINTS:
Movement should be continuous.
Arrange three or four courses with a group at each course.
Students perform the challenges from start to finish and jog back to repeat the course. On signal, groups move to a new course.
Rotate groups to each course after a specified time. Music can be used for motivation and to signal changes.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Students throw the ball into a hoop and then walk with their group to a hoop. Students use a scorecard to keep track of the number of throws for each hole.
TEACHING HINTS:
Put on pedometers
Use hula hoops for holes
Set the course up around your teaching space with cones for the tees
Each student has an old tennis ball
Play Whistle Mixer to create even groups
Provide scorecard
INSTRUCTIONS:
Squads line up and place 1 member at the other end of the playing area, 10 to 20 yards away. This person runs back to the squad and fetches the next person. The person who has just been fetched in turn runs back and fetches the next person. The pattern continues until all members have been fetched to the opposite end of the playing area.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use Whistle Mixer to create groups of 4-5.
Create lines/squad formation with each group.
Identify first player to go to opposite end of playing area.

How many steps did you take in class today? How did that compare to previous lessons?
What was challenging about the Walking Tournament?
What areas of the body did fitness work on today?
How many steps did you take today in comparison to the steps you took yesterday?
Collect pedometers
