Unit Objectives:

The student will:

  1. Demonstrate changing from walking, to sprinting quickly when given a signal by the instructor.
  2. Participate in the Hexagon Hustle Activities to improve her overall fitness levels.
  3. Demonstrate proper tagging skills demonstrating safety rules explained by the instructor.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to perform locomotor movements on command.
  5. Rapidly change movements and count the number of repetitions performed during the Number Challenges.
  6. Move and assume an athletic pose while maintaining proper body control.
  7. Demonstrate a smooth rhythmic run during Rhythmic Running.
  8. Move quickly and under control during Triangle plus One Tag.
  9. Participate in Circuit Training exercises and movements working towards performing at a higher intensity than previously.
  10. Demonstrate the ability to work in groups and properly perform various exercises at each station.
  11. Participate in Parachute Fitness Activities to improve overall fitness.
  12. Perform Continuity Exercises including rope jumping for 30 seconds to improve her overall fitness levels.
  13. Demonstrate the skills and techniques of passing a soccer ball in the air on the laces, as demonstrated by the teacher.
  14. Demonstrate the correct techniques for dribbling a soccer ball with both inside and outside of both feet.
  15. Demonstrate the ability to dribble a soccer ball for speed using outside of the foot.
  16. Demonstrate control of her body and the ball while dribbling the around cones.
  17. Develop ball foot and eye hand coordination using a soccer ball.
  18. Demonstrate the proper techniques for passing a soccer ball short and long distances with both the inside and outside of both feet.
  19. Demonstrate one and two touch passing skills using both inside and outside of both feet as demonstrated by the teacher.
  20. Demonstrate the proper skills and techniques for collecting a soccer ball to themselves using their head.
  21. Demonstrate quick reactions while playing soccer with classmates in a game situation.
  22. Demonstrate the ability to work with a partner using a task sheet and during all class activities.
  23. Demonstrate dribbling, passing, trapping and heading skills using form demonstrated by the instructor during the skill test.
  24. Demonstrate proper dribbling techniques in a game of Dribblerama.
  25. Participate in the Soccer Tournament demonstrating skills practiced during the unit.
