Direct each partner set to pick a card from the “Cookie Jar.”
Create music intervals with 35 seconds of music for activity followed by a 10 second silence for picking a new card and changing activities.
Lesson Focus (15-20 Minutes)
Dribbling for speed The student will run and dribble ball between 2 cones 10 times. Both partners can practice at once with adequate spacing.
Kicking and Trapping Use the inside of your foot and pass the ball to your partner standing 10’ away from you. Partner returns ball to you. Repeat 5 times. Gradually add distance.
Combination Dribbling and Kicking Drill Student dribbles toward partner 1/2 distance between the cones set up, then passes to partner who must trap the ball and begin the drill himself. Alternate turns.
Set cones up 20 feet apart. Using a management technique, create partners. 1 ball per person
Find a new partner on signal from the instructor.
Set up cones for dribbling drill.
Closing Activity (5 Minutes)
Two parallel lines 20 feet apart. 3 people in center between the lines form a chain. The players on the end can tag people. On signal the center says “come” and the 2 lines run across, if tagged they join the chain.
Select 3 to be in center
If the chain gets too long, freeze and break it into 2-3 smaller chains.
