INSTRUCTIONS:
Students run around the area where hoops are on ground. Teacher calls a number, and that number of students must fit inside a hoop in 5 seconds or less.
TEACHING HINTS:
Scattered formation.
No body part may touch outside of the hoop. First team to stay inside the hoop for 10 seconds is the winner.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Relax and stretch for a short time.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use music segments (25 seconds) alternated with silence segments (30 seconds). When the music is playing, students jump rope; when silence occurs, students do a flexibility and strength development exercise.
Exercises can be done in two-count fashion. Exercises are done when the leader says “Ready.” The class answers “One-two” and performs a repetition.
Allow students to adjust the workload to their level. This implies resting if the rope jumping is too strenuous.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Passing: Top of Foot
Demonstrate passing the ball in the air with top of foot
Head should be down, toe down, and ankle locked.
Combination Drills:
Dribbling, Instep Pass
Demonstrate dribbling down the field 15’, instep pass to lead partner. Continue.
Throw in, Top of Foot Pass
Demonstrate throw in, top of foot pass to partner.
Dribbling, Outside Foot Pass
Repeat drill used performing with the Instep pass.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use elbow to elbow to create pairs.
1 ball per two students.
Toss ball to partner at foot. Partner passes using top of foot. Have doer face a fence so pass won’t go too far. Repeat 5 times then switch roles (contact the ball with laces).
Pass ball to lead partner down field.
INSTRUCTIONS:
On signal students run around and try to pull flags off. If flag is pulled you sit down. The one with the most flags after a given short period wins. Repeat.
TEACHING HINTS:
Scattered formation.
Each student has a flag tucked into his or her shorts.
Ask questions regarding the proper form used for passing the ball in the air.
