NATIONAL STANDARDS: 1-5
INSTRUCTIONS:
Marking is an excellent activity for learning to elude an opponent and learning to stay near someone defensively. Partners are selected, and one elects to stay near the other. On the first signal, the challenge is to stay as close as possible to the partner attempting to get away. When a second signal is given, both partners must immediately freeze. If the chaser can reach out and “mark” the partner, the chaser scores a point. Roles are reversed each time a signal is given.
TEACHING HINTS:
Scattered formation
Locomotor movements can be changed for each round, for example, walking, fast walking, jogging, sliding, and doing carioca.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Passing (1 touch, 2 touch passing)
Students will be 5 yards apart. On each signal students will continue passing but move back to be next cone. On signal they will move back to last cone marker while still passing the ball. They will do the same thing with the 2 touch (start at 1 ft. and move to 20).
2 touch: Same techniques but stop the ball with the inside of the foot first, then pass it back. Repeat drill.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use Toe to Toe to create partners.
1 ball per 2 students
Partners stand opposite each other at cone markings.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Teams line up on the sidelines of the rectangle. Three or four active players from each team are called from the end of the team line. These players remain active until a point is scored; then they rotate to the other end of the line. The object is to kick the ball between cones (goals) that define the scoring area. The active players on each team compete against each other, aided by their teammates on the sidelines.
Sideline players can pass to other sideline players or an active teammate, but a sideline kick cannot score a goal. Rotate in a new set of players after 30 to 45 seconds. More active players can be added when the class is large.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Discuss skills practiced during the day and Sideline Soccer game.
What muscles were mainly used in class today?
