INSTRUCTIONS:
On signal (drum, clap)
• Runners freeze in place. They resume running when the regular beat begins again.
• Runners make a full turn in four running steps, lifting the knees high while turning.
• Runners go backward, changing the direction of the circle.
TEACHING HINTS:
Circle Formation: Follow the back of somebody’s neck to create a circle.
The tone of the drum controls the quality of the movement, light sound light run, heavy sound heavy run.
When the drum stops students run in scattered formation, when it resumes, they return to circular formation and follow rhythm.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Use intervals of music and silence to signal duration of exercise. Music segments indicate aerobic activity while intervals of silence announce flexibility and strength development activities. Choose flexibility and strength development exercises from the following list:
Arm Circles; Jump or Hop back & forth, side to side.
Crab Alternate Leg Extensions; Skip; Twist; Slide; Lunge; Jumping Jack Variations; Flying Angel Sit-Ups.
Hop to Center and Back; Push-Ups; Gallop.
Arm Stretch – across body; Trot; Arm Stretch – overhead.
Power Jumper; Shoulder Rolls; Ankle Circle.
Head Circles in frontal plane; Stretch & Touch Toes.
TEACHING HINTS:
Circle or scattered formation with space between students.
Student should be in constant movement except when stopped to do strength and flexibility activities.
Create music with 30 second intervals of music on followed by 30 seconds of silence. Students perform aerobic activity when the music is on and strength and flexibility exercises when the music is off.
Signs to prompt students to choose a variety of strength and flexibility exercises.
INSTRUCTIONS:

•Pass the ball 2-3 feet off the wall to yourself.
•Partner underhand tosses ball to you. You forearm pass back to your partner. 10 times then switch. Repeat.
•Partner bounces ball to you. You forearm pass back to your partner. 10 times then switch. Repeat.
TEACHING HINTS:
Find a partner for tossing, bouncing, and passing the volleyball.
Scatter formation throughout Gym.
INSTRUCTIONS:
6 players per team. Use as many courts as needed. Need to have an even number of teams so everyone is playing.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use regulation rules but must have 3 hits per side. Can also allow 2 serves without penalty if desire.
Review daily activities. Teacher will ask lead up questions for self-discovery. Talk about teamwork.
