INSTRUCTIONS:
Students are in ready position and performing a quick shuffle step in place. They shuffle left, right, forward, backward, over, and around obstacles on signal by the teacher’s hand motion.
TEACHING HINTS:
Scattered formation in front of teacher.
Mark area with cones.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rope jumping—forward 25 seconds
Double Crab Kick 30 seconds
Rope jumping—backward 25 seconds
Knee Touch Curl-Up 30 seconds
Jump and turn body 25 seconds
Push-Ups 30 seconds
Rocker Step 25 seconds
Bend and Twist 30 seconds
Swing -Step forward 25 seconds
Side Flex 30 seconds
Free jumping 25 seconds
Relax and stretch for a short time.
TEACHING HINTS:
Make a tape with music segments (25 seconds) alternated with silence segments (30 seconds). When the music is playing, students jump rope; when silence occurs, students do a flexibility and strength development exercise.
Exercises can be done in two-count fashion. Exercises are done when the leader says “Ready.” The class answers “One-two” and performs a repetition.
Allow students to adjust the workload to their level. This implies resting if the rope jumping is too strenuous.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Hand out Tennis Reciprocal Task Sheet #1 defining the Forehand Stroke
Explain Task Sheets.
Pairs who complete the task sheets can turn materials in and rally using the Ready Position and Forehand Stroke.
TEACHING HINTS:
Using the elbow-to-elbow technique to create pairs of students.
Have one person kneel. The person standing should pick up a clipboard with pencil and task sheets. The person kneeling should pick up a racquet and two tennis balls and return to partner. Assign students to courts to work on Task Sheets.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Practice tossing and catching the Frisbee over the net. Place an emphasis on throws that just clear the net and land inside the court lines.
TEACHING HINTS:
Play “toe to toe” to select new partners.
Students should be directed to safe direction to toss Frisbee to partner and toss and catch the Frisbee over the Tennis net.
