INSTRUCTIONS:
Hold up a card with 3 numbers on it (i. e. 8,10,5). The students must then perform 3 selected movements the specified number of times.
TEACHING HINTS:
Scattered formation
Students put together a series of movements based on the magic numbers given.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Jog around the Gym.
2. Crab walk forward and backward between cones.
3. Jog and shake hands with 8 different people.
4. Carioca (grapevine) step around a court going each direction.
5. Jog backwards around the Gym and “high 5” 4 other people.
6. Perform a mirroring activity with your partner.
7. Execute maximum number of curl-ups/push-ups.
8. Perform the coffee grinder on each side.
9. Execute maximum reverse push-ups.
10. Jump rope at a Hot Peppers rate.
TEACHING HINTS:
Use management game to create partners.
Direct each partner set to pick a card from the “Cookie
Jar.”
Create music intervals with 35 seconds of music for activity followed by a 10 second silence for picking a new card and changing activities.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Dribbling with Defensive Pressure
First each student will dribble in coned area with 1 defender using skills learned, then 2 defenders. After going through coned area once, change roles. Repeat 3 times per student.
High Trapping Skills
Demonstrating trapping with thigh.
Practice: Toss ball toward thigh of partner. Trap with thigh and dribble 5 feet forward.
TEACHING HINTS:
Using Whistle Mixer, create groups of 3.
Identify coned off area.
Use same groups as above, or switch to groups of 2 for this practice. Can rotate roles if groups of 3 used and 2 balls.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Divide the class into two or more groups. Each group makes a tight circle with arms pointing toward the middle. In each group, students hold someone’s hand until everybody is holding hands. Each person must hold a hand of two different people and not hold the hands of the people on either side. On signal, the two groups race to see which group can untangle first without disjoining hands. The group may end up in either one large circle or two smaller, connecting circles. People can be facing different directions when finished.
